An Exceptional Harvest Rating Committee, composed of 9 of Spain’s top sommeliers, has awarded the 2015 harvest of the D.O. Ribera del Duero the rating of “excellent vintage.”
These professionals, hailing from the country’s finest restaurants—together holding a total of 17 Michelin stars—describe the wines of the 2015 vintage as having very violet hues and a narrow rim. In the olfactory phase, fruity tones stand out, while in the gustatory phase, they are defined by excellent balance and high tannic potential.
It has taken three years for the D.O. Ribera del Duero to regain the “excellent” rating, achieved after tasting more than 300 references, scored in sealed envelopes and signed by these expert tasters.
“This rating encourages us to continue working to ensure our wines maintain outstanding quality and are featured among those offered by the best restaurants in our country and worldwide,” stated Enrique Pascual, President of the Regulatory Council, in a statement issued by the entity.
At PRADOREY, we celebrate this great news, which confirms the forecasts made by our technical team after analyzing the evolution of wines from the previous harvest.
